November 9-13, 2022

Every year, we bless our new missionary families with overwhelming love by giving gifts from wishes and needs that they have. Most of the needs on the lists they provide are for their ministries, and we also ask them to send us wishes (items they've been dreaming about). 


We, as a church, love to love in this way. We hope you will join in this huge blessings. We will present these gifts to our missionary famlies on the evening of our finale celebration, November 13th.

What is their purpose?

  • Win Ugandans for Christ
  • Disciple believers
  • Train Ugandans to teach/preach/lead
  • Plant Ugandan-led, local indigenous churches

Where will they start?

  • Initially they will start working alongside Russ and Sylvia Daniels at Bwerenga Bible Baptist Church
  • While acclimating in the culture with the Ugandan people, they will attend language school and serve as youth, evangelism, and children's leaders at Bwerenga Bible Baptist Church

What is their plan?

They will actively and continually share the Gospel with the Ugandan people in their nature language

They will teach and train Ugandans to serve and take ownership of the Great Commission.

They will continually pray for doors to open for a new church plant in that country.

BIO:

After serving many years on the mission field, and in ministry, Don & Kathy began a ministry called Missionary to Missionary Care with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. They come alongside battered and bruised missionaries and national pastors. 


Their calling is to come alongside missionaries and national leaders so that they might benefit from their life-journey, training, and expertise. Whether it's life coaching, trauma care, pastoral counseling, leadership development, or cross-cultural training, they are here for them!


Don & Kathy understand the many challenges and pressures of cross-culture living and ministry. They desire to help missionaries and national pastors Survive and Thrive to Serve Longer and Stronger in life, relationships, and ministry.

BIO:

Sydney's testimony begins with her parents, Lance and Melanie Gotcher, who answered the call to serve Christ in Manila, Philippines. From a young age, Sydney knew all the Bible stories from Sunday school but then realized her need for a Savior after watching a film about Jesus. Seeing what He did out of love for us broke her and she knew she needed forgiveness for her sins and for Christ to be the center of her life. Sydney continued to serve God at church but it wasn’t until her senior year of high school that she surrendered her life to full time ministry. Sydney attended Baptist Bible College, obtaining a degree in Intercultural Studies, and it was at college where God burdened her heart for unreached people groups. She met a couple doing ministry in East Asia and after interning with them for a summer, she surrendered to go to that field. They have an established ministry in East Asia called Greenhouse for Hope.


Sydney looks forward to joining their team as they come together to reach the unreached. She has been equipped and sent out by Beacon Baptist Church in Taylor, Michigan and through the support of her sending church and other churches across the U.S. she is eager to share the Gospel to the unreached of the world. Currently, her country is still closed because of COVID so she plans on living in Manila, Philippines for a year to learn Mandarin as there are a lot of foreigners from her desired country who live in Manila. Please pray that she can learn the language quickly and that doors would be opened.

michael & shaleena quinlan

BIO:


Michael grew up in the tropical Philippine Islands, where his parents and grandparents served as missionaries. As a young adult, he became disillusioned with God and drifted away from church. Thankfully, God never gave up on him and graciously orchestrated events in his life to eventually bring him back to his Heavenly Father.


Shaleena had a wildly divergent childhood, growing up partially in the farm country of the American Midwest and partially in the jungles of Papua New Guinea. Her dad pastored churches in Kansas between two stints as a missionary in the South Pacific, both of which were cut short due to extreme health issues.


With their parents as long-time close friends, Micheal and Shaleena knew each other most of their lives. They have been married for 14 years and parent an incredible little boy named Atlas! In 2012, while serving at Overland Park Baptist, God led them to let go of a growing construction business and surrender to full-time ministry. Their pastor, Tracy Roby, asked Mike to join the staff, while simultaneously finishing his degree at Boston Baptist College.


Their heart for missionaries, world travel, and cross-cultural ministry coalesced in the summer of 2021 into a specific call to serve with George and Luisa Dimakos at Voice of Truth refugee ministry, a thriving outreach of Athens Baptist Church in the capitol of Greece. Michael stepped down as associate pastor in December 2021, and a month later, they departed for Athens to begin serving.
